Global Domains International, also known as GDI, is a well established company that owns it's own domain name look-up and registry service. Along with this service comes hosting, email, a website builder and marketing support. GDI also owns it's own domain name extension, .WS (eg. - .com, .us, .net, etc.). It has large corporate accounts and also distributes it's products online through an MLM or Network Marketing model.

The domain name and hosting industry is ultra competitive. When someone can go to GoDaddy and register a domain name for less than $20/yr, there must be a compelling reason for someone to sign up with GDI other than wanting to register a domain name. Whether you are a customer or affiliate, the monthly cost of maintaining an account with GDI is $10/mo.
Although the demand for domain name and hosting services is expected to grow tremendously, you must find a way to differentiate yourself and stand out from the crowd on the net.
Problem #2
GDI has become one of the better known online business opportunities so it's more difficult to find new prospects who have not already heard of it. A large number of online marketers bounce around from one opportunity to the next. So most will have heard of it and dismiss it when they come across it again.
Problem #3
Information overload. There is so much information on internet marketing that it becomes a challenge to determine what book, course, video, audio, guru, coach, webinar, etc. to learn from. The rsult is confusion, frustration and eventually quitting altogether.
So, while Global Domains International is a legitimate company with a legitimate business opportunity, there are some major obstacles for the beginner affiliate to overcome.

Let's deal with problem #1 first. How does a little guy like you and me compete with the GoDaddys of the domain and hosting industry? WHY, should someone sign up with you and your GDI Biz if all they want is a domain name? Even if they want to build their own website, there are plenty of places to do that for free!
The best way to differentiate yourself and establish a profitable online presence is with your own domain name and hosting account. That's a good start. However, that will not put you on the same playing field with the brand name, established businesses with household names.
For GDI affiliates who are beginners to the online marketing world, the quickest way for you to get into profit with your GDI Biz is to hook onto a "proven" system that does not require you to violate the company's tampering policies, meaning, you don't have to unethically switch sponsors to get into the "system" you're considering. Once you find something that's "doable," you can then lead those in your own downline into the system and really grow your business.
Ideally, there will be no upfront cost to sign up and try a good system. If it's really that good it will be set up with that in mind. Another key ingredient you are looking for is something that's doable and is legitimate, and most of all, there is an abundance of FREE information, training, trials, media, ebooks, etc. given to you at no cost before you're asked for any payment.
This also solves problem #2 because now GDI's former naysayers who've written the opportunity off as too hard to do will now rethink. Many inactive affiliates may come around when they something viable that they can make money with.
I personally would not use a system that relied in any way on GDI"s inviter system or the replicated websites. In my opinion, this puts you in direct competition with the biggest online marketing giants in the business opportunity hustle or, with the cut throat hosting/domain industry.
The key is to target a profitable niche. An analogy might be... Instead of competing head to head with the big boys, go after a smaller group in that market. To find these profitable "niches" takes a little time and a little effort but skip it and you end up with problem #1 again!
The niche you target must be large enough to be profitable but not so large that you have little chance of success.
